The Town of Greater Napanee has partnered with DocuPet to provide an enhanced dog licensing experience for the town’s dog guardians. DocuPet specializes in creating pet licensing programs that put the pet first. By making sure every pet's licence tag has the ability to help them get home safe, there's more reasons than ever before to make sure your dog is licensed and always wearing their town tag (nevermind the fact that it's the law!). And with so many fun tag styles to choose from, you'll definitely find something perfect for your pal.
Licensing is Mandatory.
Did you know dog licences are required in nearly every city and county across North America? Licensing plays an important role in ensuring the proper resources are in place to care for everyone in the community - this includes our children, our pets, and us. It's in large part thanks to those dog owners who license their pets that the town is able to provide critical animal welfare and protection services including animal protection officers and local shelters.
The fact of the matter is pets get out, they get sick, and unfortunately not every animal gets along with other pets or people. A licence allows town officials and your fellow citizens to identify an animal, contact their guardian, and make decisions that are in the best interest of the dog and the community.
Fees and Fines
There’s no ifs ands or buts about it, licences are required for all dogs living in Greater Napanee. They must be renewed every year prior to the expiration date (don’t worry, we’ll remind you!).
Failure to present a valid licence may result in fines of over $100.00.
Please note that Greater Napanee’s licensing program operates on a 365 day cycle. This means that all licences expire the following year on the date they were purchased.
